This weekend we celebrated Ron and Karen's 40th anniversary. My dad was offered a weekend in a beautiful cabin in Gatlinburg, and they invited all of us kids to join them. There was a huge upper and lower deck with a view of Mt Leconte. The game room had a pool table where the guys spent much of their time. MacKenzie and I played air hockey and she even played it with Morgan! At night we went into the card table room and played Texas Hold Em. Greg and I ended up with all the chips buy one in the end! Maybe we should try our luck in Vegas! Greg grilled steaks and we had a huge dinner to celebrate Mom and Dad's anniversary. Julie and Chris also brought a cake with the colors from their wedding.
Saturday we had a picnic in a park we always visited as kids, Mynatt park. We walked the rocks in the creek just like the old days! Mackenzie took off on her own and did a great job. I am sure Morgan will be there with her next time.
We really had a great time and are so thankful to the family who loaned us the cabin this weekend. We think it should be something we do every year!
Now we are ready for a busy fall. Greg starts school soon, and I will have my surgery this week. We also can't believe Kenzie is starting Kindergarten this year! Life is moving fast, but we love having weekends to spend with our families and remind us how good God is and how thankful we are for the people we love!
